PA Cyber’s Space Exploration Video Nominated for Emmy

August 14, 2024

MIDLAND, PA – PA Cyber’s marketing team received a nomination in the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for its video “Moments in History: The Moonshot” in the Education/Schools – Short Form category. The video celebrates advances in space exploration taking place in Pittsburgh and includes interviews with experts from Pittsburgh-based Moonshot Museum and aerospace company Astrobotic.

“PA Cyber is honored to be nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for the second consecutive year,” said Scot Rutledge, the video’s producer and PA Cyber’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “To have the school’s name next to other nominated organizations like WQED is a testament to our dedication to education across all platforms, including television. This honor is accredited to PA Cyber’s talented marketing team.”

The video explains the importance of North America returning to the moon to locate water ice, which would be the foundation for colonization. Everything has changed since the last time we were there, including advances in robotics and miniaturization. Astrobotic is designing the robots needed for future visits to the moon, and the Moonshot Museum is preserving the history of space exploration taking place in the Pittsburgh area.

Mike Hennessy, Manager of Learning & Programs at Moonshot Museum, invites professionals in a wide range of fields to consider a career in the space industry. “I would welcome you to consider being part of this grand adventure because we’re about to make history, and Pittsburgh is taking the lead once again as we head back to the moon.”

PA Cyber’s Moments in History videos have received recognition from multiple awards organizations in the last two years. The educational series is available publicly on the school’s YouTube channel so anyone can learn from them.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognizes excellence in television with the Emmy Award. The Emmys host nineteen regional ceremonies across the country every year, including the Mid-Atlantic regional competition. Nominations were announced in August, and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards will take place in September.
